Driving the news: Downtown Naperville is turning up the volume on Tuesday nights this summer with a brand-new event series called River Sounds. Starting June 17, locals and visitors can enjoy live performances in two unique back-to-back sets along the scenic Riverwalk.

Details:

• 6:30 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.: Music kicks off at Jaycees WiFi Park with a mix of pop, folk, jazz, and acoustic artists.

• 8:15 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.: The second act moves onto the water with acoustic performances from a secured boat, offering everything from instrumental sets to opera under the stars.

• The series runs every Tuesday through July 29 (excluding July 1).

Why it matters: River Sounds is more than just a concert—it’s a creative use of public space that invites the community to gather, slow down, and enjoy downtown in a new way. For Naperville residents, it’s a chance to connect with neighbors and local music in a scenic, accessible setting.
