Driving the news: Jack in the Box is making its Chicago comeback after a 40-year absence, with plans to open up to 10 new locations across the city and suburbs over the next two years. Two drive-thru restaurants in Naperville and Plainfield are expected to open as soon as July 2025.

  • Carol Stream, Countryside & New Lenox – August 2025

  • Chicago (7807 S. Cicero Ave) & Lake in the Hills – September 2025

• What’s on offer: 24/7 service with dine-in, drive-thru, and mobile ordering; famous craveable fare like burgers, tacos, chicken sandwiches, milkshakes, and breakfast wraps (including new Fajita & Caesar Jack Wraps)

Why it matters: This marks a major fast-food shift in Chicagoland's late-night dining scene. With 24-hour operations and a unique menu, Jack in the Box aims to fill a niche left by competitors and meet substantial demand from both city dwellers and suburban residents.
